Last Couple of Months

Well..on July 9 to 10, I went to Montreal with my four friends to attend the Vans Warped Tour. It’s more like a concert which has many stages for many bands to perform in a time. Most of the bands origin from around Canada and the United States with diversity of genres and some of them might be underground bands which less-known but the interesting part is when these “underground” bands perform on the stages, people love to hear and sing along with the vocalists pretending like they know these bands which what I did. I don’t care about who they are because what I was looking for was the beauty of music and some new songs that I wanna enjoy. Bands like SUM 41 and the all American rejects really captured my eyes and perhaps most of the crowds.

Early in the morning of July 11, we went back to Ottawa because of the World Cup Finals which won by the Spanish team. te amo España

The All American Rejects

And this is what happened right after I finished my last exam paper for my second year in Carleton University. All these things were planned by one of my seniors in Ottawa which turned to be my vacation I guess. When I was preparing for my final together with Faris, Dzul and Kham at Loeb Building, Kham suddenly came up with this idea which was a trip to Halifax from April 21-25 and he sent a message to several of my friends to propose the idea and there we were!!Everyone agreed and we moved our asses all the way to Halifax started 10 pm on April 21 with two cars, Mitsubishi Lancer and a Toyota dot dot dot.. I forgot what type of Toyota we used. Kham and I were the first drivers and three of the trip members, Dzul, Pawa and Qushairi helped when the first drivers exhausted I would say. Approximately 2500kilometers covered. It’s like the distance between my hometown and Kuala Lumpur.

Among four places we stepped on, the Prince Edward Island is the most beautiful one followed by Quebec City..The island is linked with the mainland of Canada with the Confederation Bridge and you can see the beauty of the island starts from there. What a fascinating views and I wish I can go there one more time before my visa expired. But next time, I prefer flight instead of driving. Quebec City is like a European city for me. The building design, the people and the views make it looks like typical European city. Most of the Quebec’s people speak French and it is hard for us to find people who speak English as their first language. From the cashiers, tourist guides, billboards, instructions and etc, all are in French. Felt like in France though.

Winter Ottawa

Hi everyone. My name is Elvine J Kantis but my friends of mine even my family members usually call me Ben. In short, you can call me Ben. Don’t ask me why because that’s what it is. Still a student and currently pursuing my degree in Carleton University, Ottawa, Ontario Canada. When I was in first year of my four years duration of study, I was in Mechanical Engineering but then I shifted to Civil Engineering. The reason of the shifting was because of my own interest in building construction, material strength etc.

I do enjoy several things besides blogging like football (soccer in American English), photographing (actually I just started this. So, just assume me as a noob on this). In football, usually I play as a defender but in recent tournament held in Purdue University, I played as a right winger. While in photographing, I have T1i Canon Camera equipped with 18-55mm lens and these new toys actually bought my closed friend in Canada just for 650 CAD. I would say it is pretty cheap because if I buy a new one, that would cost me more than 1000 CAD which I can use to do many things. Besides these two, I also enjoy travelling. Back to my homecountry, Malaysia, I’d been to many places, Miri, Kuching, Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu, Pulau Pinang, Ipoh, Shah Alam and many other places. In Europe, I went to Ireland, England and coming soon, Germany!!
